Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The location as far as the setting, the scenery, the access to the beach was perfect! Overall, the house was clean and spacious (there are a ton of stairs) but when you're in a house that's over 3,500 square feet, sort of expect that given where the house is at. Even though we did have a slight issue with the hot tub (which I will elaborate more below), it was fixed very quickly. The communication and responsiveness was great.

Negative: There were a couple minor issues we didn't care for. The first one was that we were notified about one week prior that that BBQ grill was not functional. Not a deal breaker but would have been nice to know before we rented. The other issue was regarding the hot tub. Two hours before check-in we scouted the house because we got there early and noticed the hot tub was about 1/3rd full and didn't look like it was ready for use. To their credit, after we contacted the hosts regarding the hot tub, when we came back 2 hours later to check in, it was fully up and running! So that was awesome! One more thing that left a bad taste in our mouth and I don't think this is an issue with the rental house or the booking agency but more so with I guess the "neighborhood". Our first night, we had a few people in the hot tub after 10pm and a glass bottle fell over between the hot tub and the cement wall next to the hot tub. As the bottle fell, it rattled between said hot tub and wall and admittedly, it was very loud. It lasted about 10 seconds. There was no music playing and only low level chatter. However, minutes later we were paid a visit by the Astoria Sherrif's department. We explained to the sheriff what happened, and he admitted there doesn't seem to be any noise, no music, nothing really going on at the house. He was cool, said don't worry about it and took off. I only bring this up as sort of a warning or heads up, but my feeling is that perhaps some of the residents who live in the neighborhood are sensitive to the rental houses in the area. Luckily it was just a warning, I was contacted by the hosts ( or maybe it was the booking agency) and they let me know the complaint was recorded but otherwise, we didn't have any more issues after this.
