Built as a hunting cottage in 1945, this authentic 750 square foot log cabin has been carefully & completely restored preserving it's historic character and relaxed charm, representing a tradition and way of life that has disappeared in Sun Valley.
Nestled in the quiet neighborhood of West Ketchum and one-half mile from town, you're walking distance to shopping, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife.
PROPERTY LOCATION: The River Run Lodge & ski lifts are one mile south. Free local bus service two blocks away takes you to Ketchum, Sun Valley, Warm Springs and the ski lifts. The Wood River Trail System, a renowned 30+ kilometer paved and machine groomed former railway system, is three blocks away offering world biking, walking and Nordic skiing. Access to the Big Wood River, famous for fly fishing, is a short walk down the road.

The Cabin is furnished with country pine antiques & cupboards accessorized with forged hardware and rustic western collectibles. Native, indigenous woods take hold of the living areas - Chinked three sided log walls, lodge pole window sills & trim, fir fireplace mantle, alder and fir doors. Aged and refinished original fir wood floors provide a warm, cuddly glow to the interior. New doors and large windows supply ample natural light. The floor to ceiling rock fireplace of regional stone is the focal point of the great room that affords comfort and livability. There's a gaming table with 4 Old Hickory Hoop chairs and assorted games, TV & VCR with extensive cable service, and stereo with iPod Dock. Super comfy Down stuffed chairs and oversized leather love seat nicely finish out the furnishings.

The property is particularly well landscaped and professionally cared for with paver walks & patio, surrounded by wonderful gardens stuffed with flowering annuals, perennials and deciduous shrubs, displaying vibrant species of color from May to October. Wildflowers and native grasses make the transition from manicured sod lawn to a perimeter of aspen, willow, maple & fir trees, completely fenced for privacy. The backyard offers up sun and shade, is private and quiet, with a lovely native field stone patio laced with thymes & herbs. There you will find wrought iron outdoor furniture with a 9 foot Market umbrella and Weber gas grille. A great place to hang out in the summertime, sip wine, take a nap, BBQ and entertain guests.
