Built in 1945, this adorable little house is unique and cozy. It’s easy to find with ample street parking in a quiet neighborhood. It’s a small house with a big yard; an oasis in the desert. There is a fully stocked kitchen, single bedroom with a queen-sized Tempurpedic bed and the bathroom has a tub/shower. The large, cozy living room has some comfy chairs and big windows looking over town into the Ruby Mountains.
We love to host your canine friend, as long as they respect the rules of our home.
After years of offering the house on Airbnb, we’ve opted to remain low tech; we don’t offer internet or have a TV. Our guests often tell us they were initially concerned, but found the night of unplugging restful, peaceful and resetting. Most carriers will have ample cell reception to support all your needs.
Although this is my primary residence, my job has me on the road the majority of the year. Through your support, I crowd source the status of my home. Guests are the first to know my fridge is out or the toilet needs to be fixed. It is a work in progress! I damaged the enamel on the tub and have struggled to find someone to fix it. I need to refinish the floors and remove the kitchen carpet (yes, you read that correctly), but want to time it when I replace the kitchen cabinets. Thank you for your patience in the process and for helping us recognize any issues the house may have.
Wells is a small town at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 93. It’s not exactly a destination stay, but is the portal to many incredible outdoor adventures. The Ruby Mountains boast 10,000’ views and hiking trails as well as Angel Lake just a few miles south of town. The California Trail branch of the Oregon Trail passed right through Wells, so check out the cool, historical 6th Street just 3 blocks from the house. Locally, there is some incredible food prepared with love in that small-town way.
