3 Bedroom Cottage in Wautoma
Come and enjoy lakefront living and the great outdoors at our cottage! A 3 hr 15 min drive from Chicago, or 2 hours from Madison will bring you to our relaxing getaway. Our 3 bedroom, 3 full bathroom cottage sleeps 8. It is perfect for 2 families with children. There are 2 master en-suite bedrooms and one bunk room for kids. The bunk bed configuration is a twin over a full with a twin trundle that pulls out.
The kitchen is fully stocked and there is a Weber gas grill for use on the back deck. The family room has a pull-out couch. We have free Wi-Fi for guests and there is a smart TV above the wood-burning fireplace in the family room. There are games and puzzles as well.
Our lakefront cottage sits at the top of a hill, so there are approximately 40 steps to get down to the beach. The beach is absolutely amazing, perfect for swimming with a hard sand bottom. This is an approximately 100 acre lake that is crystal clear and 40 feet deep. We have kayaks, canoes, and a paddle boat for guest use as well. The fishing is some of the greatest around. Bring your gear and you can catch some large-mouth bass, rock bass, trout, or pike. This is a recreational lake, where you can water ski, tube, or wakeboard (NO wake before 10 am or after 4 pm). Currently, we will not be offering use of boats, but if you have your own there is a public launch and some space to dock at our pier. Or if you prefer to stay on land, there is a bonfire pit on the beach and plenty of gorgeous sunsets and stargazing. There are also three bikes available.
In the winter time, we are just 10 minutes from Nordic Mountain, where you can ski, snowboard, or tube. Or, we have a pop-up ice fishing shanty available for guest use on our lake.
For local activities, enjoy a local fish fry, have pizza delivered, or go out for ice cream. Go golfing at one of the many local golf courses. Take a tour of the Wild Rose fish hatchery.
We are pet friendly, so bring your well-behaved dogs along for the vacay! We want you to have fun and relax, but absolutely NO smoking in the house and NO parties whatsoever. If you do smoke, outside, please clean up after yourself.
